ZetSIM is operated by Zetexa Global Private Limited. We run this website and our mobile applications, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services (the “Services”), on our own platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit or use the Services, buy from us, or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing and disclosure of your personal information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.
Personal information we collect or process
When we use the term “personal information”, we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified. We may collect or process the following categories, including inferences drawn from them, depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law.
Contact and billing details your name, email address and billing country, your phone number if you give it, and — where you provide them — your billing address, state, city, postcode and GST number.
Payment information transaction details, the type of payment method, and payment confirmations. Card details are entered directly with our payment processors, Stripe and Razorpay; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Account information the email address you sign in with, your preferences and settings, and your ZetCoins and refund coin balances.
Order and eSIM information the plans, top-ups and airport services you view, add to your cart, buy or ask to refund; your eSIMs' identifiers (such as the ICCID), status, validity and data usage; your airport bookings; and your past orders.
Identity documents where a destination's rules require identity verification before an eSIM can be used, the documents you upload for that check — for example a passport, visa or proof of address. They are passed to our verification system; we keep a record that a document was submitted, not the file itself.
Communications with us the information you include when you contact us, for example when sending a customer support enquiry.
Device information information about your device, browser or network connection, your IP address and other unique identifiers. We also use your IP address to work out your likely country, to show prices in your currency and to record where an order was placed for tax purposes.
Usage information information regarding your interaction with the Services, including how and when you navigate them.
Where that information comes from
Directly from you when you create an account, visit or use the Services, communicate with us, or otherwise provide us with your personal information.
Automatically through the Services from your device when you use our products or visit our websites, and through cookies and similar technologies.
From our service providers when we engage them to enable certain technology and when they collect or process your personal information on our behalf.
From our partners and other third parties who share information with us as permitted by law.
How we use your personal information
Depending on how you interact with us or which of the Services you use, we may use personal information for the following purposes.
Provide, tailor and improve the Services to perform our contract with you, process payments, deliver and manage your eSIMs, top-ups and airport bookings, verify identity where a destination requires it, process refunds, remember your preferences, send account and order notifications, manage your account, and recommend plans related to your trips.
Tax and accounting to work out the tax that applies to an order and keep the records the law requires, using your billing details and the country your order was placed from.
Marketing and advertising to send marketing and promotional communications by email, and to show you online advertisements for our products and services, including based on plans you viewed or added to your cart.
Security and fraud prevention to authenticate your account, provide a secure payment experience, and detect, investigate or act on possible fraudulent, illegal, unsafe or malicious activity. Keep access to your email account safe — we send your sign-in codes there.
Communicating with you to provide customer support, be responsive to you, and maintain our business relationship.
Legal reasons to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.
How we disclose personal information
In certain circumstances we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include:
With service providers who perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), payment processing (Stripe and Razorpay), email delivery (Amazon Simple Email Service), analytics (Google and Microsoft Clarity), customer relationship management and customer support.
With the mobile network operators that carry your eSIM's service, to the extent needed to provide it.
With business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and advertise to you. They will use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. Depending on where you reside, you may have a right to direct us not to share information about you for targeted advertising.
When you direct, request or otherwise consent to disclosure to a third party.
With our affiliates or otherwise within our corporate group.
In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with legal obligations, to enforce applicable terms or policies, and to protect or defend the Services and the rights of our users or others.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies that the Services need in order to work — for example to keep you signed in, hold your cart, and remember your currency and language.
We also measure how the Services are used. We record basic first-party information such as the pages viewed and the link you arrived through, and we use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you accept them in our cookie banner. If you decline, Google's tools run in their consent mode and Microsoft Clarity runs without its cookies.
Third-party websites and links
The Services may link to websites or platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated with or controlled by us, review their privacy and security policies and other terms. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness or reliability of information found on them. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including third-party social networks, may be viewable by other users. Our inclusion of a link does not, by itself, imply endorsement.
Using ZetSIM in ChatGPT
ZetSIM offers a plugin for ChatGPT, a service operated by OpenAI. When you ask ZetSIM a question in ChatGPT, OpenAI sends us the details of that request, and we use them only to answer it. OpenAI’s handling of your conversations is governed by OpenAI’s own privacy policy.
What we receive the search details in your request — for example the destinations, trip length, data needs, budget, currency and device model you mention.
What we do not use ChatGPT may also attach your approximate location, language setting and browser type to a request. ZetSIM does not use or store them.
What we never receive your name, email address, ChatGPT account details or chat history. Nothing is bought inside ChatGPT: if you choose a plan, you buy it on zetsim.com, where the rest of this policy applies.
Logs our plugin’s logs record only that a request was made, its result and how long it took — not what you asked. Our web servers’ standard access logs record the network address of the server that connected (for ChatGPT requests, OpenAI’s) and are kept for no more than 11 days.
Advertising and links we do not use plugin requests for advertising. Links the plugin shows carry a tag that identifies ChatGPT as the source, so we can count visits from it; once you are on zetsim.com, the cookies and analytics described above apply.
Children’s data
The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, contact us using the details below to request that it be deleted. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Security and retention of your information
Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security”. In addition, any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecured channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us.
How long we retain your personal information depends on factors such as whether we need it to maintain your account, to provide you with Services, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes or to enforce other applicable contracts and policies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights listed below. These rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances and, in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law.
Right to access / know you may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
Right to delete you may request that we delete personal information we maintain about you.
Right to correct you may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
Right of portability you may request a copy of your personal information and ask us to transfer it to a third party, in certain circumstances and with certain exceptions.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing depending on where you reside, you may opt out of the “sale” or “share” of your personal information, or of processing for purposes considered “targeted advertising”.
Managing communication preferences you may opt out of promotional email at any time using the unsubscribe link. We may still send non-promotional email about your account or orders.
If you reside in the UK or European Economic Area
Objection and restriction of processing you may ask us to stop or restrict processing of personal information for certain purposes.
Withdrawal of consent where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, as permitted or required by law. You may designate an authorised agent to make requests on your behalf; we will require proof of that authorisation. We will respond in a timely manner as required under applicable law.
Complaints
If you have complaints about how we process your personal information, contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For the EEA, a list of responsible supervisory authorities is published by the EDPB.
International transfers
We may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in. If we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or the equivalent contracts issued by the relevant competent authority of the UK, unless the transfer is to a country determined to provide an adequate level of protection.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on this website, update the “last updated” date and provide notice as required by applicable law.
