Mexico doesn’t have a single national “winter” or “summer” experience. Think of it as three big influences: altitude (Mexico City is high), coast (humid heat), and storm season (especially on the Caribbean side).

The best months to visit Mexico (and why)

November

A sweet spot. Rain eases in many regions, humidity drops, and the country starts sliding into prime-weather mode. If you like warm beach days without the peak-season price spikes, November is hard to beat.

December to February

This is prime time for many travelers: comfortable temperatures in cities and reliably pleasant beach weather in much of the country. The trade-off is crowds (especially around holidays) and higher prices for flights and resorts.

March and April

May

September and October
